The Senate Finance Committee is scheduled to meet Thursday to take up several tax extender measures.  Committee member and Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley is disappointed Chairman Ron Wyden has not included the wind production tax credit in his proposed package.  South Dakota Wind Energy Executive Director Paul Bachman says without the federal credit many projects will never be built.

Bachman says he’s encouraging his group’s members to follow his lead and contact Senators on the committee to urge the Chairman to include the wind production tax credit in their discussions.

Bachman says wind projects rely on the federal tax credit as well as revenue and cost projections and without those it’s nearly impossible to get financing.
