The Minnesota Wild have signed left wing Daniel Winnik to a one-year, $660,000 contract.

Winnik was in training camp on a tryout basis. He’ll give the Wild insurance while left wing Zach Parise works his way back from injury.

Winnik had a career-high 12 goals last season for Washington. Minnesota will be his eighth NHL team. The Wild open the season on Thursday at Detroit.
