Thomas Vanek scored one of Minnesota’s three power-play goals and pitched in three assists, leading the Wild on a 6-2 romp over the road-weary Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night.

Mikko Koivu also scored and had three assists, Zach Parise added a goal and two assists and backup goalie Darcy Kuemper turned in another sharp performance for the Wild, who improved to 5-0-3 in their last eight games.

The Minnesota Wild have claimed center Jarret Stoll off waivers from the New York Rangers.

Stoll was waived on Monday after totaling just one goal and two assists in 29 games with the Rangers. He failed to record a point in his last 18 games. The 13-season veteran won two Stanley Cup titles with the Los Angeles Kings before signing with the Rangers as a free agent last summer.

The 33-year-old Stoll has 141 goals, 241 assists and 602 penalty minutes in 821 career NHL games, with a plus-6 rating and a faceoff winning percentage of 55.4.

Stoll’s 93 postseason games are more than any other Wild player.
