The Minnesota Wild have returned to the ice.

The first formal practice of training camp starts on Friday morning at Xcel Energy Center, where the Wild have brought 58 players in for evaluation. Highlights of the preseason include an open-to-the-public practice in St. Paul on Saturday morning and the first exhibition game on Monday night against Buffalo. The Wild will also spend two days later this month bonding and practicing in Duluth.

The Wild brought back almost entirely the same team that was eliminated in the second round by the eventual Stanley Cup champion Chicago last spring. Their opener is Oct. 8 at Colorado, and the home opener is Oct. 10 against St. Louis.
