Zach Parise scored twice and Devan Dubnyk made 22 saves to blank his original team, helping the Minnesota Wild clinch a spot in the playoffs after a 3-0 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.
Playing for the first time in nearly three years without stalwart defenseman Ryan Suter, the Wild wrapped up their home schedule with a staggering 21-3 shots advantage in the third period. Their place in the postseason was secured about 2½ hours later when Los Angeles beat Colorado.
Ryan Suter has a broken right ankle that will require surgery and end his season, right before the start of the playoffs.
