The Minnesota Wild have signed forward Cody Almond to a one-year contract.

Almond scored 18 goals and had 16 assists in 44 games with Geneve-Servette in the Swiss League in 2013-14. Almond also scored eight goals and had 22 assists in 39 games with Geneve-Servette in 2012-13.

The 24-year-old native of Calgary, Alberta, was originally selected by the Wild in the fifth round of the 2007 draft. He played 25 games with Minnesota in parts of three seasons and scored two goals.

Almond also scored 29 goals and had 38 assists in 159 games with the AHL’s Houston Aeros from 2009 to 2012.
