Inkster, North Dakota area producer Dianne McDonald is the new President of Women Involved in Farm Economics or WIFE. She says one of her organization’s major priorities is getting a new farm bill passed with a solid crop insurance program and a strong safety net.
She says another important priority is to get federal lawmakers to lessen regulations impacting farmers and ranchers and to properly fund conservation programs.
McDonald says WIFE also wants solid trade agreements in place that benefit America’s farmers and ranchers.
McDonald says her group would like to see Country of Origin Labeling reinstated and that they’ve introduced an awareness program called Demand U.S. Beef. She says consumers have no way of knowing whether or not they’re getting U.S. beef so they’re distributing bumper stickers with Demand U.S. Beef on it.
