South Dakota State University wide receiver Jake Wieneke was named Tuesday to the STATS FCS All-America First Team.

 

A sophomore from Maple Grove, Minnesota, Wieneke earned All-America honors for the second year in a row after leading the Jackrabbits with 72 receptions for 1,472 yards and 11 touchdowns during the recently completed 2015 season. He currently ranks second among Football Championship Subdivision players for receiving yards and receiving yards per game (122.7). His average of 20.44 yards per reception also ranks fourth.

 

Through two seasons at SDSU, Wieneke ranks second in career touchdown receptions (27), third in career receiving yards (2,876) and sixth with 145 career receptions. The owner of two of the top three single-season receiving yardage totals in program history, Wieneke was a second-team All-America selection by The Associated Press in 2014, as well as a third-team All-America honoree by the Sports Network and a member of the College Sporting News FCS Fabulous Fifty.
