Whiteclay Nebraska Liquor Stores Lose Licenses

After decades of controversy the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission voted Wednesday to deny the renewal of licenses for four liquor stores in Whiteclay. Chairman Bob Batt says made the motion today after reviewing a number of complaints, circumstances and facts.

No alcohol is allowed on the reservation but the four liquor stores sold three-and-a-half million cans of beer last year alone.
Commission Member Bruce Bailey says there are several reasons why he voted not to renew the licenses.

The commission voted 3-0 to deny the licenses. The lawyer for the liquor store owners says he will appeal the ruling.
