The Wheat Quality Council’s Annual Spring Wheat Tour gets underway today and runs through Thursday. Taking part is South Dakota Wheat Commission Executive Director Reid Christopherson. He expects they’ll see less acres than they normally see as well as some harvested already or that cut up for hay for livestock due to the drought.

He says drought has hit a large part of the wheat in the Northern Plains this year.

Christopherson says the Wheat Quality Council’s Tour serves several positive purposes.

There are 45 participants in 12 cars covering the eight routes of this weeks tour.
