The first day of the Wheat Quality Council tour went into Western Kansas, drove through the central part of the state and today heads northwest to Colby from Hayes. Wheat Quality Council Executive Vice President Dave Green says the wheat is late this year compared to past years.
He says while lack of moisture has impacted the crop, the main problem has been the colder than normal weather.
Green says the key to how the wheat crop finishes up will be whether or not it gets good moisture going forward prior to harvest.
The tour ends Thursday with a wrap up session held in Manhattan.
