Thursday, the Wheat Quality Council wrapped up their three day spring wheat tour in North Dakota. Council Executive Director Dave Green says their bushel per acre estimate was about 3 bushels higher an acre from last year but didn’t match up to bumper expectations.
He says their yield estimate is below what the government projected.
Green says the crop was negatively impacted mostly from the heat.
The tour looked at just over 340 fields compared to close to 500 last year. A hotter than average June had a large impact on the wheat.
