A pair of South Dakota State University athletes have earned weekly honors from the Summit League in a pair of sports.

South Dakota State’s Lovro Curcija was named The Summit League Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the second time in his career Tuesday.

Curcija, who was the final player of the week last year, opened the season with a 7-6, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles over DePaul’s Alex Galoustian, the Big East’s reigning Freshman of the Year and all-conference selection.

For the third time this season, South Dakota State University’s Olivia Olesiak has been named Summit League Women’s Diver of the Week.

A senior from Wyoming, Minnesota, Olesiak swept the diving events in a Jan. 16 dual at St. Cloud State (Minn.). She scored a total of 274.80 points in winning the 1-meter event for the fourth time this season. Olesiak also tallied 267.50 points en route to victory on the 3-meter board for the second time during the 2015-16 campaign.

The school-record holder in both 1- and 3-meter diving, Olesiak has now been honored as Summit League Diver of the Week six times during her career. She previously was honored this season on Oct. 27 and Nov. 17.
