With farmers facing increasing weed resistance problems they need to look at various strategies for prevention and control. That’s the focus of a seminar this Friday in Fargo, North Dakota hosted by Peterson Farm Seeds. President Carl Peterson says he’s alarmed at the resistance issues and there are very few herbicide modes of action farmers can use to combat the problem.
He says that means farmers will need to look to nature and traditional agronomic practices for other strategies.
Peterson admits new biotech traits will help with resistance, but aren’t the silver bullet.
The weed resistance seminar is this Friday from 9am to 3pm at the Fargo Holiday Inn.
