Following a dry growing season in much of Iowa, weed pressure picked up dramatically during soybean harvest. Brandon Hulme lme, Agronomist with Champion Seeds in Ellsworth, Iowa says weeds did a number on soybeans in a large part of the state.
He advises growers to study what trait and chemical offerings are available as they plan for the next growing season as it comes to seed selection and chemical choice.
Hulme says diseases increased during harvest after being almost non existent during the growing season.
Hulme says for chemical applications, he advises producers to study which ones are the best to apply and to make sure and look at what the chemical labels require as well as any state regulations concerning those.
