The WE CARE group will keep working on local issues in Lincoln County, South Dakota after their success with getting a half mile setback for wind projects passed on Tuesday. WE CARE’s Winnie Peterson says they want to see renewable energy and economic development in the county, but want to make sure citizens are informed and involved in the process.

She says whatever economic development projects are approved in Lincoln County they must be the right fit.

Peterson says while WE CARE was successful in getting this week’s ballot measure approved they’ll continue weighing in on future county issues.

The WE CARE group championed the movement that led to a 57 to 42-percent approval of their wind project setbacks.
