The group opposing the Dakota Power Community Wind Project is holding a pair of meetings this week. WE Care South Dakota will host meetings Tuesday night in Harrisburg and Wednesday night in Lennox, with both starting at 7 pm.
WE Care’s Winnie Peterson says they’re urging a YES vote on the July 18 Lincoln County Ballot measure, which would uphold the current county wind ordinance calling for a half mile setback. She says they’re not trying to get rid of all wind projects, just trying to make sure they’re done safely.
She says anyone interested in the issue is welcome to attend their meetings and get more information on the details of the ballot measure.
Peterson says Wind Power proponents who are pushing for a no vote aren’t being transparent with voters.
Tonight’s meeting in Harrisburg is at Liberty Elementary School and Wednesday night’s meeting in Lennox is at the Community Library.
