Wayne State standout Michaela Dendinger has been named the Northern Sun Conference Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year for the second straight year.
The conference released the information Wednesday with several of her accomplishments.

– NSIC Champion in discus, shot put and hammer throw for second straight season
– Has NCAA automatic qualifying marks in all three events
– Was NSIC Field Athlete of the Week five out of six weeks this season
– National qualifier in three events for second straight year
– Ranked first in NCAA Division II in shot put (54-3.75)
– Ranked second nationally in hammer throw (205-10)
– Ranked sixth in NCAA Division II in discus (175-0)
– Named NSIC Indoor Women’s Field Athlete of the Year
