In a process that occurs every 7 to 8 years, Wayne State College strives to receive accreditation. The college was recently notified by the Higher Learning Commission that accreditation has been reaffirmed. The process required Wayne State to voluntarily evaluate their strengths and weaknesses and submit their findings to the HLC for them to confirm or reject.
President of Wayne State, Curt Frye, says the college found strengths in their academic programs.
Frye says that they did find somewhere to improve.
Frye says the college strives for accreditation to ensure continual improve for a high quality institution for students.
The HLC consists of appointed members from the public and outside academic institutions who visit and scrutinize the voluntary report of an institution.
