The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced its work plan for inland waterway projects for fiscal year 2018. Waterways Council Senior Vice President Deb Calhoun says their plan includes several projects that benefit ag shippers with a total construction account of $399 million.

She says also funded through the work plan are seven projects on the Upper Mississippi and Illlinois Rivers.

Calhoun says Waterways Council is also pleased the House approved their WRDA Bill which didn’t include any tolls for shippers to pay. She expects the Senate to move soon with their WRDA legislation.

Calhoun says both the Fiscal year 2018 Omnibus appropriations bill and FY 18 Corps Work Plan represent another year of record funding for the Corp’s Civil Works mission.
