Congressmen Rodney Davis of Illinois, Ted Yoho of Florida and John Delaney of Maryland are working on legislation to fund President Trump’s infrastructure plan. The Representatives are looking at taxing corporate earnings to help pay for that with a repatriation tax. Waterways Council Senior Vice President Deb Calhoun says that is a potential funding source for infrastructure projects as well as combining federal and privately sourced money.
She says another idea that’s been floated for funding the President’s infrastructure plan is creating of an infrastructure bank.
Calhoun says her group last week held their Fly In where their members spoke with Senators and Representatives about infrastructure legislation including the President’s proposal.
Part of the legislation Davis, Yoho and Delaney are working on includes providing $ 120 billion to the Highway Trust Fund, $50 billion for an infrastructure bank and $25 million for a pilot program for rural infrastructure.
