Morgan Kohl of Watertown was crowned the 63rd South Dakota Dairy Princess at the Central Plains Dairy Expo in Sioux Falls Tuesday night. Kohl currently works at MoDak Dairy near Goodwin. She will serve as a goodwill ambassador for the state’s dairy industry for the coming year. As part of that job she hopes to spread the message about the nutritional value of three servings of dairy products daily.
Kohl says plant based beverages and imitation dairy products can’t hold a candle to the nutrition in real milk and dairy products and that makes proper labeling important.
She says it is an exciting time to be representing the dairy industry with the growth in the I-29 Corridor.
Kohl plans to attend SDSU and major in animal science. She also received a $1000 scholarship from the Midwest Dairy Association.
