Water System To Get Limited Federal Funds

Water System To Get Limited Federal Funds

The Lewis & Clark Regional Water Project found out last week that it will get just over nine million dollars in federal funding this year. That includes budgeted dollars, plus money from the Bureau of Reclamation’s rural water fund.

Project Executive Director Troy Larson says at this point, Congress can only direct money toward that water fund…

Larson says any construction they can do this year and next will depend on more funding from the states…

Larson says if they can’t get money from Iowa, they will have to move construction to Minnesota…

The three state water project is about sixty percent complete, and has stalled in the last few years due to low levels of federal funding.
