A dependable water source was one of the main reasons the Tru-Shrimp Company has decided to build its first harbor in Madison. The company will produce about eight million pounds of shrimp a year in large tanks in their facility.
The city will soon be receiving more water as a part of the Lewis & Clark Regional Water System. Executive Director Troy Larson says this was a major reason for building the system….

Tru-Shrimp moved their preferred location from Luverne Minnesota to Madison.
Larson says both cities will get water from Lewis & Clark..

Larson says they will also be ready to provide water when Tru-Shrimp goes back to Luverne…

The system is about seventy percent done, with more construction planned in South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota later this year.
