Water Safety Stressed as Memorial Day Weekend Approaches

Water Safety Stressed as Memorial Day Weekend Approaches

Memorial Day weekend is just days away and water safety is being stressed after four teenagers were injured on Lake Waconda in Cass County last weekend.   Two girls were thrown into a rock wall and suffered various injuries.  Nebraska Game and Parks Commission Herb Angell says that is one reason they recommend a boater safety course prior to heading to any body of water.

Angell also says leave the alcohol on the dock.

Angell says there were four boating deaths last year and none of the victims were wearing life jackets.  Those under 13, those riding a jet ski or being towed in a tube are required to wear one.
