Water releases from the reservoir system on the Missouri River are going to drop for the winter, but not as much as usual.

Mike Swenson with the Corps of Engineers says releases will decrease to 21-Thousand, 500 cubic feet per second at Gavins Point Dam, higher than the normal 12-to-17 Thousand level. . .

Swenson says adjustments can be made throughout this winter or next spring. . .

Swenson says the Corps will monitor water levels to insure the reservoir system is prepared to handle snow runoff next year to prevent flooding along the Missouri River.
