The Regional Watershed Advisory Task Force of the South Dakota legislature is meeting today in Pierre.
The group has held a number of meetings, looking for some consensus on water management policy in the state.

Kim Vanneman of Ideal headed up the subcommittee on water management districts. She says they propose creating nine natural resource districts.

Vanneman says the resource districts would, in some cases, cut across county lines.

Vanneman says they are looking for a management plan that would allow continued control at the local level.

The task force plans to advance a comprehensive bill to the 2015 legislature.
