More signs that prohibit fishing on waters that have flooded private land are popping up in the glacial lakes area in northeast South Dakota.

Years of rain and run off pushed many lakes and sloughs far out of their natural boundaries.

The legislature has attempted to find some legal middle ground between landowners and sportsmen. Frerichs says it has been difficult to find a compromise…

 

Frerichs says the Game, Fish & Parks Department has also been working to find some resolutions…

 

Frerichs says he hopes they can bring the parties back together in search of a solution.
