Bartel says their tax levy request has not changed in the last four years due to the stable budget. This year, they plan to ask for close to $960,000 in property taxes to fund projects; the rest of their budget found in carry-over funds from last year. He says the district is very active in Yankton and Hutchinson Counties and hopes to become more involved in northern counties by raising the amount of cost-share in the Earth Dam Program.
