The Yankton City Commission approved one of the first major contracts for the water supply upgrade.

They accepted a nine point two million dollar bid from Welfl Construction for the collector well to be built near the Missouri River at Paddle Wheel Point.

Director of Environmental Services Kyle Goodmanson says they decided to upscale the well…

 

Goodmanson says it is easier to start big instead of going back later and trying to expand the well…

 

Goodmanson says this will be a long term investment for the city…

 

Construction of the collector will start in the spring. The overall water plant project could cost up to twenty nine million dollars.
