A water bill approved by the South Dakota Legislature will help the Lewis & Clark Regional Water System get more pipes in the ground.

The Omnibus Water Bill includes almost eight million dollars for the regional water system.

Executive Director Troy Larson says they plan to use it in a round about way…

Larson says money that was approved last year by the legislature will help them get a jump start on this project…

Larson says they hope to have water flowing through this segment by late next year…

The project is about seventy percent complete, but has faced a drought of federal funding over the past few years.
