South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem says the state is in almost constant contact with the Corps of Engineers over rising reservoir and river levels.
The Corps will increase flows from Gavins Point Dam to seventy five thousand cubic feet per second this weekend due to the rising upstream reservoirs.

Noem says the Corps keeps changing the numbers….

Noem says they hope to avoid a repeat of 2011……

Noem says they are watching towns along the river from Pierre & Ft Pierre, Chamberlain, Yankton, Vermillion and Dakota Dunes…

Noem says with more levee breaks downstream, the Corps can only release so much water without making that flooding worse.
Noem spoke at Girls State in Vermillion on Thursday.
