Warning sirens in the Lewis & Clark Lake area will be taken up again next year by the Yankton County Commission.

County Emergency Services Manager Paul Scherschligt says they want to get more public input before they move ahead…

The siren project was put on hold after public protests of the placement of poles in rural neighborhoods.

Scherschligt says it will be an expensive project…

Commissioner Garry Moore says he thinks the process will be easier once the public gets more involved…

Scherschligt says the lake area sirens are the first step in placing them countywide, which he says could take ten years.
