Downtown Yankton was the site of the “Welcome to Walnut” celebration Friday night.
It marked the official end of the reconstruction of a two block section of Walnut Street directly north of the Meridian Bridge Plaza.
Yankton Mayor Nathan Johnson says it is a great addition……

Johnson says the downtown is the heart of any city…..

Johnson says they hope the public investment pays off in private development….

The project cost just over two point one million dollars.
