As early as this week Congress could take a vote of disapproval on the Waters of the U.S. Rule and in essence kill the proposal. National Corn Growers Association President Chip Bowling says they believe there are enough votes to pass this legislation and they hope that will send a strong message to the Administration.
South Dakota Senator John Thune isn’t sure of the timing of the vote, but says EPA’s government and regulatory overreach is something Congress will address even though it’s an election year.
He says Congress would rather stop WOTUS legislatively verses having to wait for a decision from the courts.
