Volume Obligation Proposal Meeting Opposition

There will be no court action against the Environmental Protection Agency’s volume obligation proposal until the rule is finalized.  Several groups are unhappy with the proposal and its compliance with the Renewable Fuel Standard.  Renewable Fuel Association President and CEO, Bob Dinneen says while court proceedings may be a later option, his group is concentrating now on getting public comments against the proposal and in favor of increasing the volumes.

Dinneen says they’re gearing up their members and others to attend a public EPA meeting set for Kansas City on June 25th.

Dinneen says the ethanol industry will survive even if the EPA proposal holds up.

Dinneen says EPA’s proposal doesn’t follow the President’s goal of battling climate change.
