U-S Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack commented on Alexis Taylor after she was sworn in as the Under Secretary of Agriculture for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs.  Taylor took the oath of office on Thursday.  She had been nominated by the Biden Administration and her confirmation hearing occurred last summer.  The U-S Senate did not act on her confirmation until last week just prior to adjourning the session.  Vilsack says “Alexis Taylor has a deep rooted and impressive career working on matters related to agriculture, trade, and enhancing export opportunities for American farmers.  She has not only spent her career serving the American people through her work in U-S agricultural and trade policy, but also as a veteran of the U-S Army.”  Vilsack says he is confident Taylor is the right person to lead as we continue to address global food security challenges, promote American exports across the globe, and strengthen trade relationships with our global partners.  Taylor is an Iowa native, and most recently worked with the Oregon Department of Agriculture.
