The Minnesota Vikings have re-signed cornerback Marcus Sherels to a one-year contract, bringing the franchise’s all-time leading punt returner back for a ninth season with his home state team.
Though he’s played sparingly on defense, Sherels has carved out a solid niche since first latching on with the Vikings in 2010 out of a rookie tryout camp.
He leads the NFL with five punt return touchdowns since 2012.
