The Minnesota Vikings have completed their purchase of 185 acres of land in Eagan which could become their new headquarters.

The Vikings announced closing on the land Tuesday. The sale price was not made public.

The Star Tribune reports team owners Mark and Zygi Wilf stopped short of saying the headquarters move is a done deal. The Vikings’ home base currently is Winter Park in another Twin Cities suburb, Eden Prairie.

In a news release, chairman Zygi Wilf said the site offers space and flexibility, and is close to downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul as well as the Twin Cities airport.

But team president Mark Wilf said while completing the purchase is “the next step” in potentially relocating the Vikings’ headquarters, “several steps remain before a conclusion is reached.”
