Vikings Prepare For Litigation

The Minnesota Vikings are preparing themselves for a battle with their former punter.

The Vikings have hired the attorney who investigated the Miami Dolphins bullying scandal and another who played a prominent role in the fight for marriage equality to help in settlement talks with Chris Kluwe.

The Vikings announced on Tuesday that Ted Wells and Roberta Kaplan have been retained. Kluwe is threatening to sue the team after it released a 29-page summary of a report that found the team cut him for football-related reasons. Kluwe wants the entire report made public.

Wells led the investigation in Miami that found that guard Richie Incognito and two teammates engaged in persistent harassment of lineman Jonathan Martin.

Kaplan argued successfully in front of the Supreme Court last year that a portion of the Defense of Marriage Act was unconstitutional.
