Vikings Ponder Pick

Vikings Ponder Pick

Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman knows that many of the mock drafts predict his team will take a receiver with the 23rd overall pick in the first round on Thursday.

Spielman says the Vikings “are not honed in on a receiver in the first round.”

The Vikings spend much of the spring adding free agents on the offensive line, linebacker and safety. That leaves receiver as the most glaring need for the team heading into the draft.

But Spielman says the work the team did in free agency allows them to be flexible this weekend. He also says he has already received two calls from teams asking to trade up to No. 23 and did not rule out making a deal on Thursday night.
