Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur has been hired as the New York Giants head coach.
The Giants announced the hiring less than 24 hours after Shurmur and the Vikings were beaten by the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC title game.
Left again one victory short of reaching the Super Bowl, the Vikings gathered as a team one last time for the 2017 season with the unpleasant thought of the Patriots and Eagles playing for the championship on their home turf.
The offseason uncertainty begins at quarterback, with expiring contracts for Case Keenum, Sam Bradford and Teddy Bridgewater.
