The Minnesota Vikings have signed center John Sullivan to a contract extension, giving him a raise and adding one year to his deal to cover the 2017 season.

The team announced the contract Tuesday with the 29-year-old, who’s fourth among centers in Vikings history with 93 starts. Sullivan has not missed a game since the 2011 season and has sat out only three times in his seven-year career. Sullivan’s base salary will increase this season from $4.65 million to $5.9 million.

Sullivan said in a statement distributed by the team that “one of the most exciting aspects of signing this extension is the trajectory of the organization,” citing the roster, coach Mike Zimmer, the fans and the stadium scheduled to open in 2016.
