Robert Griffin III’s practice status has been upgraded, but it’s still not certain when he will make his first start in his return from an ankle injury.
Washington Redskins coach Jay Gruden said Griffin went from “limited” to “full” during Wednesday’s light practice. The coach said Griffin will get a few more snaps with the first-team unit this week and “there’s a chance” Griffin could start Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Gruden said Griffin looks good physically, but the coach continues to iterate that Griffin needs to show comfort in the huddle and a mental command of the offense to get back on the field.
If Griffin doesn’t play, Colt McCoy would get another start. McCoy led an upset win over the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night.
