Veterans are blasting the debt ceiling legislation passed by House republicans this week, warning it will cut key programs and services for the nation’s veterans.
The V.A. said the bill could cut their budget up to twenty two percent, leading to the cut in services.
South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson, who helped write the budget bill, says there are no cuts in the plan….
Johnson says their plan would roll back the overall budget to 2022 spending levels….
Opponents say that rollback would amount to a one hundred thirty billion dollar cut to all non-defense spending.
Johnson says their plan would allow the budget to grow one percent a year…
The budget plan will not pass through the democrat-controlled Senate.
