The Verdigre Stockyards in Verdigre, Nebraska started a hay drive on Saturday to help livestock producers that lost hay or can’t reach their feed sources with the recent storm and flooding. Curt Zimmer is helping coordinate the effort and says they’ve delivered more than six semi-loads of hay so far to ranchers in need.

He says hay is currently being delivered to the sale barn from all over the state and nation.

However, Zimmer says they are still in need of more hay and are looking for donations.

They also have a supply of dog and cat food, milk replacer, salt blocks, and other feed items that were donated to the sale barn. Ranchers are also in need of vet supplies and fencing supplies. With questions or to donate contact the sale barn at 402-668-2246.
