Veterans Administration officials are moving to reduce the services offered by a South Dakota VA hospital used by many western Nebraska veterans.
The VA has relented in its efforts to close the Black Hills Care System in Hot Springs, but now is moving to make it an outpatient only medical center.
Congressman Adrian Smith says he hopes this isn’t the last word on the Hot Springs hospital. . .

Smith insists the battle isn’t over. . .

The VA initially proposed closing the hospital in Hot Springs. Members of the Congressional delegations of Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming have objected.
