VA Agreement Has Nebraska Senator’s Support

Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer supports a tentative agreement between Senate and House negotiators on a bill to address problems in the Veterans Administration.
Fischer says a portion of the bill would give veterans a choice to seek treatment outside the VA system if their wait for treatment is long or they live far from a VA hospital. . .

Fischer says there is a lot of optimism in Congress that former Procter and Gamble CEO Robert McDonald will implement reforms as the new Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

The legislation provides money to hire more doctors, nurses, and other staff members at VA hospitals throughout the country.
