A new report from the U.S. Meat Export Federation shows the positive impact red meat exports have on U.S. corn prices. The study was conducted by ag consulting firm World Perspectives. Senior analyst Dave Juday says the study was updated due to significant growth in U.S. beef and pork exports, which have increased 26-percent since the data was collected for the original analysis.
He says the positive correlation red meat exports have on corn prices will continue for the next decade.
Juday also notes that 11-percent of the price of corn this year will be derived from beef and pork exports and that translates to a substantial premium.
And he says that figure that will continue to grow in the next 10 years.
