USMCA Delayed Again…..

The U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement has hit another snag. Farm Bureau members will be talking about that and trade in general next week at the American Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal says they’re pleased the Senate Finance Committee passed USMCA but are concerned it’s being delayed until next week for other committee considerations.

The Senate Parliamentarian has determined that the USMCA legislation will have to be considered by six other Senate committees. VanderWal says they’re anxiously following that process.

He says while that means USMCA may not come up in the full Senate until late next week at the earliest, it’s still positive it’s advancing.

VanderWal says Farm Bureau members are also excited for signing of the U.S. China trade agreement.
